Though the nation’s housing market remains weak, certain people in certain cities still demand luxury — even minimalist luxury.

The “Art Stable” building in Seattle, designed by Tom Kundig of Olson Kundig Architects, is a case in point. With concrete floors, glass walls, a rusting steel exterior and a unique outside crane to lift big items into the unit, the condos offer unusual creative options. It also has one of Kundig’s signatures: a door that cranks open with the spin of a large steering wheel.
