Seattle adds 35K jobs in past year, nation’s fifth-biggest gain – Puget Sound Business Journal

Seattle added 34,800 jobs in the past year, which is the fifth-highest amount in the U.S.

Seattle now has 1,669,900 nonfarm jobs, compared with 1,635,100 in August 2010.

More than three-quarters of America’s major metropolitan areas have added jobs during the past 12 months, according to figures released Wednesday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics .
