Interest rates on fixed-rate mortgages hit new record lows this week.
MarketWatch reports the average rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage dropped to 4.09 percent in the week ending Thursday, which is the lowest in the 40 years Freddie Mac has tracked that figure. For a 15-year loan, the average rate dipped to 3.30 percent.
