It has been a shaky recovery, to be sure, yet all but six states have added jobs during the past 12 months.
Washington added more than 38,000 jobs in the past year, the ninth-best record in the country.
Texas, as usual, is No. 1 in the latest seasonally adjusted figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Lone Star State picked up 269,500 jobs between July 2010 and the same month this year.
